New Plans for a New Year

Every New Year, I reassess my session plans, curriculum (for my school position), and my overall plans for the upcoming New Year. I like to revamp what I am doing and bring in a new overall plan for my business, my career and my life. This year I've decided to keep it simple and keep each area of my life to a one word goal. So here it goes:

1. Business: INCREASE. This year I want to work on increasing all aspects of my business. Increase my client base, increase my advertising, increase my connections, and increase my visibility.

2. Career: IMPROVE. I want to improve my skills within the field of music therapy. I want to take more courses, go to more conferences, attend more opportunities to improve my musical skills, and improve my advocacy.

3. Life: FOCUS. I have some huge goals for myself this coming year and the year after that heavily depend upon the next few months. My goal for 2017 is to focus on my goals, focus on my business, focus on my career, focus on my relationships and focus on MYSELF. I often let my physical and mental health slip, and this year (starting Christmas Eve) I have decided to focus on me as a whole.

Right before the New Year, most people make goals and begin to form habits, but do they really stick to them? My goal for all three areas together is this: FOLLOW-THROUGH. I want to consistently have follow-through on everything I do.

Do you have goals set for this year? We would love to hear what your goals are and how you plan to maintain the FOLLOW-THROUGH over the course of the next year! Let us know in the comments below!
